VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA – Vancouver Police are warning the public about a dangerous offender now living at a halfway house in the city.
Tyler Gordon Strathdee poses a significant risk with a history of sexual assault, assault with a weapon, and manslaughter. Strathdee is currently serving an 11-year sentence out of Alberta. His sentence expires in 2028, but he was granted statutory release in December 2024, allowing him to serve the remaining three years in the community. He chose to live at a halfway house in Vancouver.
In February 2025, Strathdee was rearrested and charged with robbery but was acquitted after a trial in BC Provincial Court.
On Friday, Vancouver Police was informed that Strathdee has once again been granted statutory release and is living in Vancouver.
His release is subject to conditions that he does not consume illicit drugs or alcohol, communicate with anyone involved in criminal activity, or be in the presence of sex workers. He must also report all relationships with women to a parole supervisor.
Anyone who sees Strathdee breaching the conditions is asked to contact Vancouver Police.
