A man who worked for a substance use recovery centre in New Westminster, B.C., has been convicted of two counts of sexual assault, and sentenced to three years in prison. 
Adam Haber was charged with three counts of sexual assault in 2023 for offences that took place in 2012 and 2013. Police said the incidents involved former clients of Westminster House, a substance use recovery facility for women.
Haber was a fitness trainer and independent contractor with Last Door Recovery Society, a drug and alcohol treatment centre that's been running in the city for more than 35 years, according to a 2023 media release from the society.
The society has previously said that when it learned of the allegations against Haber, it terminated his contract within 24 hours. 
Last Door and Westminster House are separately owned and operated but they raise funds together and have clients attend the same community-based support meetings.

Police said Haber met the women through his involvement as a client, sponsor and later contract employee at Last Door starting in 2010.
The New Westminster Police Department (NWPD) said it launched an investigation after allegations of sexual assaults were made "in connection with" a local recovery facility.
Police said 11 women came forward with statements for investigators, which led to the initial charges. In February, Haber was convicted of two counts of sexual assault, and last week he was sentenced to three years in prison. 
He has also been added to Canada's sex offender registry for 20 years and must follow court-ordered weapons prohibitions, the NWPD said.]]>

In the interest of public safety, Saskatchewan RCMP advises the residents of Prince Albert, Mont Nebo, Leask, Mistawasis First Nation, Shellbrook, and surrounding communities that an offender considered to be at high risk of reoffending sexually and/or violently has been released from prison after having served the entirety of his sentence.

THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION IS INTENDED TO ENABLE MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC TO TAKE SUITABLE PREVENTATIVE MEASURES, NOT TO EMBARK UPON ANY FORM OF VIGILANTISM OR OTHER UNREASONABLE CONDUCT DIRECTED AT THIS INDIVIDUAL.

Roland Clifford Morissette has shared with Saskatchewan RCMP his intentions to reside at Mont Nebo and to visit occasionally the areas of Leask, Mistawasis First Nation, Shellbrook and Prince Albert. He is described as a 54-year-old man of slim build, (5’10’’, 140 lbs), with brown eyes and short black hair. He has a tattoo of a buffalo skull on his upper left arm and a large 5-inch vertical scar on his abdomen. He has smaller visible scars on his left cheek, left wrist, chest and chin.

Roland Clifford Morissette has a criminal record that contains both violent and sexual offences connected to substance use and a history of reoffending and non-compliance with release conditions.

During his periods of incarceration, Mr. Morissette completed several educational programs for sex offenders, substance abuse, anger management and living skills.

Roland Clifford Morissette’s criminal history and limited progress during these educational programs has led Saskatchewan RCMP to believe he is at a high risk of reoffending sexually and/or violently after his lawful release.
To help mitigate the risk to public safety and contribute to Mr. Morissette’s rehabilitation, the Saskatchewan RCMP High Risk Offender Unit is currently working with its provincial partners to have conditions imposed on Roland Clifford Morissette for a period of two years after his lawful release, in accordance with Section 810.1 of the Criminal Code.

In the meantime, Roland Clifford Morissette has been ordered by court to obey, among others, the following conditions:

• Keep the peace and be of good behaviour.
• Live at an approved residence and not change residence.
• Stay inside the approved residence from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. every night.
• Not have unsupervised contact with any child under the age of 16.
• Not be within 100 metres of any park, playground, school, or any other location where children under the age of 18 usually go.
• Not possess or consume alcohol, cannabis or drugs not prescribed by a medical doctor.
• Not enter or be in any place of which the main purpose is to sell cannabis or alcohol, such as cannabis stores, bars or liquor stores.
• Not possess any firearm, ammunition, or any other weapon.
• Notify his romantic partners of all his past criminal convictions.

The entirety of this information is shared to raise awareness about the presence of a high-risk offender in your community so that you may make informed decisions about entering in contact with this person. His sentence expires in 2028, but he was granted statutory release in December 2024, allowing him to serve the remaining three years in the community. In February 2025, Strathdee was rearrested and charged with robbery but was acquitted after a trial in BC Provincial Court.
On Friday, Vancouver Police was informed that Strathdee has once again been granted statutory release and is living in Vancouver.
His release is subject to conditions that he does not consume illicit drugs or alcohol, communicate with anyone involved in criminal activity, or be in the presence of sex workers. He must also report all relationships with women to a parole supervisor.
